Make a charitable donation with a Qualified Charitable Distribution through your IRA account.
A Qualified Charitable Distribution is a tax-efficient way to donate to your to the Springfield Education Foundation directly from your IRA. A QCD is a direct transfer of funds from your IRA custodian and can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions for the year as long as certain criteria are met.
This type of distribution is great for anyone 70 and a half or older for many reasons: it can help to satisfy your required minimum distribution obligation for the year, you won’t need to itemize the donation on your tax deductions, and it also excludes the amount donated from taxable income which can reduce the impact of certain tax credits and deductions, like Social Security and Medicare.
If this type of donation seems right for you, please contact your IRA custodian to learn how to give to SEF through a Qualified Charitable Distribution.
Consider making a gift today, for the future of our children. Please explore our website or contact Christina San Filippo (Christina@springfieldeducationfoundation.org) at the Springfield Education Foundation to discuss the many ways to give.
