SEF Grants for Springfield Public Schools Educators
Applications for all SEF grants will be accepted between December 1 – April 1 of each year for funding for the following school year.

Grants
The Springfield Education Foundation awards grants annually to provide enriching learning opportunities for students attending Springfield Public Schools. Please read the instructions for each individual grant for more information on each opportunity. Grant applications due in the Spring are intended for implementation in the following academic year.

SEF Grants
Springfield Education Foundation currently offers three types of grants to SPS educators involved in the instruction of students. Click below to learn about each grant.
- Innovative Educator Grant Awards – designed to encourage, facilitate and recognize innovative teaching programs in Springfield Public Schools to empower student success.
- Frank Sherman Grants – offered to promote and support health, physical fitness, and outdoor education activities and curriculum offered at the Springfield Public Schools.
- Social Emotional Learning Fund (SELF) Grants – offers funding for educators who wish to implement sustainable Social Emotional Learning opportunities for students attending Springfield Public Schools.
Eligibility
Individuals or Springfield Public Schools staff teams involved in the instruction of students or related support services are eligible to apply as individuals or collaborative staff teams. Primary applicant must be involved in the instruction of students or related support services. Projects benefiting any and all age groups from kindergarten to twelfth grade are eligible for consideration.
Timeline
December 1 – Grant applications available
April 1 – Grant applications due by midnight
May – Recipients notified and grant funds available
May 31 – Evaluations due for grants awarded in the previous spring
