Sona Hodaie
Executive Director
Sona Hodaie joined the Springfield Education Foundation team in 2026 as Executive Director. With 10 years of experience in nonprofit management, community engagement, and educational advocacy, Sona is honored to help lead SEF’s work supporting Springfield students, educators, and schools. She is passionate about building strong partnerships between schools, donors, and the broader community to expand opportunities for every student.
She has lived and worked in the Eugene/Springfield area for 11 years and holds a Master of Public Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Oregon.
Sona and her husband, Jeff, are the happy (and busy!) parents of their son, Calvin, who was born in 2024. Outside of work, Sona enjoys family walks along the river, practicing yoga, and reading books with Calvin.

Ashley Mahlum
Program Coordinator
Ashley Mahlum joined the Springfield Education Foundation team in 2021. A former Preschool Teacher, she has worked with children and served the families of the Springfield community since 2015. Ashley has a passion for arts, history, and education, and enjoys networking and communication, as well as event planning. She has lived in Eugene since 2014 when she moved from Missoula, Montana with her partner, Nick. They were married in 2019 on the Oregon coast, and together enjoy socializing, live music, games, and camping and hiking with their Great Pyrenees mix, Porter. Ashley spends her free time enjoying crafts, music, and organic gardening.
