Night of 11,000 Stars Gala & Auction 2023

Springfield Education Foundation supporters and friends gathered together to celebrate the Night of 11,000 Stars Gala & Auction. The event was a monumental success fueled by the incredible generosity of our donors. Together, we raised an impressive $230,000 in support of Springfield students and educators, showcasing the unwavering commitment of our community towards quality public education.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who played a part in making this event a success for the kids. From friends and family to sponsors, educators, volunteers, and the dedicated SEF Board of Directors, each contributed their time, resources, and passion to create a truly magical evening.

The importance of quality public education resonates deeply within our community, and this was evident in the overwhelming support we received. The Night of 11,000 Stars was not just a fundraiser; it was a celebration of unity and purpose, highlighting the collective effort to empower student success.

The gala was a night to remember, filled with joyous moments shared among SEF friends and supporters. From a fun photo booth capturing guest’s special moments to the lively activities such as the special paddle raise for students and the exciting live auction, every aspect contributed to the event’s success.

We extend our gratitude to our program hosts, Jeff Fuller and Andy Price, as well as our event chairs, Justin and Malia Martin, for their invaluable contributions in making the gala a memorable experience for all.

Numerous individuals and organizations deserve recognition for their role in making this event a triumph. We’d like to thank Carte Blanche Caterers for the delicious plated dinner, event coordination by Events By Erin, and the Eugene Active 20-30 Club #920 for staffing our gala with dedicated volunteers. Sid Voorhees & Associates, Inc., Zion Ideas Productions Inc., Barry Thompson Productions, and Kirsten Albright & her team all made the program and auction a memorable event. Thanks also to The Flower Market, Ninkasi Brewing, Hop Valley Brewing Co., and all the local businesses and individuals who generously donated to our auction. And of course, thanks to Smile Photo Booth, SELCO Community Credit Union volunteers, Grant Showcase educators, student volunteers, and our generous sponsors — each contributed significantly to the gala’s success.

A special mention goes out to Thurston High School’s Culinary CTE program, whose delectable desserts added an extra layer of sweetness to the event. We are grateful to Creswell Bakery, Market of Choice (Delta Oaks), Parkway Bakery at The Mercantile on the Parkway, Palace Coffee and Bakery, Sweet Life Patisserie, Voodoo Doughnut, Havana Cafe, and all SEF Board Members and friends who contributed their tasty treats for the ever-popular Dessert Dash.

Another event highlight was a special paddle raise for Springfield High School’s Mariachi del Sol. After the live auction, the band gave a lovely musical performance, after which SHS Band and Mariachi Director, Jon Bridges, shared with donors the impact of this program as well as their plight to raise $60,000 for brand-new trajes (mariachi uniforms). Attendees raised their paddles to raise an incredible $7,650 in support of this important program.

This special night would not have been possible without our sponsors, who are dedicated to quality education. Huge shoutout to our North Star Sponsors of 2023: Sierra Pacific Industries, International PaperRoseburg Forest ProductsWeyerhaeuser, and Deployed Logix!
