SEF Celebrates 22 SPS Educators
Springfield Education Foundation awarded $43,853.27 in Innovative Educator Grants to 20 innovative educators who are making a significant difference in their schools and community. This is eleven more educators than last year! The award winners are implementing innovative new approaches to teaching and represent a variety of creative projects and ideas.
As with many successful organizations, the Springfield Education Foundation depends on the contributions of many people to make its programs and services possible. This year, the Foundation was proud to host a tour of grant opportunities for its board members, SPS staff, Springfield High School drummers, and members of the community. This exciting and fun event took our tour across twelve Springfield Public Schools to award a total of $46,048! Way to go SPS!
Two other grant programs were awarded during our visit. The first was a $1,000 Social Emotional Learning Fund grant awarded to First Grade teacher, Nicole Norris at Guy Lee Elementary School. The second was a $1,195 Frank Sherman Grant awarded to Willamette Leadership Academy.
