Tuesday, November 29 is Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving back to worthy causes. You can participate in this special day and help children in Springfield by making a donation to the Springfield Education Foundation. Simply click the Donate button to the right.
When you give, students accomplish more. For example, students in Mr. Donaldson’s 3rd grade class at Two Rivers–Dos Ríos Elementary School are learning their multiplication facts quicker then ever, due to a new software program, called Reflex Math, which was funded by donors last year through a SEF Innovative Educator Grant.
Many of the children attending this highly impacted school, do not have the tools at home to help with education basics like math facts, which makes this software critical to their success.
Reflex Math is just one of many programs funded by generous donations given by caring individuals. Contributions to the Springfield Education Foundation support students throughout the district, with opportunities to learn in new and exciting ways. For example, your donations recently funded 22 Innovative Educator Grants to help improve student performance.
Unfortunately, the foundation received more grant requests this year than we were able to fund, so there are many programs that went unsupported, including a renewed subscription to Reflex Math for Two Rivers–Dos Rios Elementary School. The school’s subscription runs out soon. Will you give a special year-end gift now to provide more students with exceptional learning opportunities?
“This is the second year we have joined the Giving Tuesday campaign. We are using this day to kick-off our year-end giving campaign,” executive director Ronnel Curry said. “If we reach our fundraising goal, we will celebrate by renewing the Reflex Math subscription for all 485 students at Two Rivers–Dos Ríos Elementary and support other innovative programs throughout the district.”
