The Springfield Education Foundation awards grants annually to provide enriching learning opportunities for students attending Springfield Public Schools. Please read the instructions for each individual grant for more information on each opportunity.

Grants Available

1.  Innovative Educator Grants presented by SELCO Community Credit Union

2.  Frank Sherman Grants for outdoor, physical and health education

3.  Social Emotional Learning Fund Grants


Individuals or collaborative Springfield Public Schools, Springfield, Oregon, staff teams involved in the instruction of students or related support services are eligible to apply.


June 30                  Final Grant Evaluations Due for 2017-18 Grants

July 1                      2018-19 Grant Applications available

September 18       Grant Writing Workshop at 4 pm in SPS Board Room

October 1               Grant Applications Due at 5 pm

November 14        Grant Givers Tour
(SEF Board, staff, volunteers and community members visit classrooms, all grants awarded)

November 30       Grant Funds Available

Grant Writing Workshops

One SEF Grant Writing Workshop will be offered in 2018-2019.


Tuesday, September 18 at 4 p.m.

This workshop is intended to prepare educators to submit grant applications. Seasoned and novice grant writers are encouraged to attend. Attendance is optional but encouraged for those seeking grant funding. Please email Sally@SpringfieldEducationFoundation.org to register.
