New Officers and Board Members Join Springfield Education Foundation
The Foundation elects seven new officers and elects three new board members July 2010.
The Springfield Education Foundation is proud to announce its new for FY 2010-2011 officers and board members.
Lance LeFever, chair. LeFever is an attorney with Thorp, Purdy, Jewett, Urness & Wilkinson, P.C. He is a board member of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and serves as chairman of its government issues committee and is a member of the chamber’s greeters committee.
Ron Bramhall, chair-elect. He is director of the Business Honors Program at the University of Oregon Lundquist College of Business and is an instructor of leadership and communication.
Bob Duey, vice chair of finance and governance. He is the finance director for the City of Springfield and a member of the Twin Rivers Rotary.
Tina DeHaven, vice chair of marketing and events. She is a branch manger for Oregon Community Credit Union.
Mike Robinson, secretary. He is an accounting professional in Springfield and a Thurston High School graduate.
Bill Spiry, immediate past chair, is a Springfield Public Schools parent, a Rotarian and juris doctorate candidate of the University of Oregon School of Law. He is a former human relations manager with the City of Springfield.
Kelly Brye joins the board to help with marketing and events. The owner of the Horace Mann Insurance Company, he is a Springfield Chamber of Commerce board member and chairs its greeters committee. He is a Thurston High School graduate.
Charlene Curry joins the board to help foster development for the organization. She retired as director of governmental relations at the University of Oregon and is a former Springfield High School educator. Curry is a parent and grandparent of Springfield Public Schools students.
“This year’s leaders and new board members for the Foundation are a dedicated, engaged and passionate group who with their time and talents are making a positive impact on the education of students in Springfield,” said Ronnel Curry, executive director.
Officers continuing to serve are Matthew Backer, vice chairman, development; Lisa Zenev, vice chairman, programs; and Nancy Golden, superintendent of Springfield Public Schools.

Stan Bowers – Development. Regional Manager of First Tech Credit Union, member of Twin Rivers Rotary and member of the Gift of Literacy Committee.

Robert Scherer – Programs. Springfield Public School alumnus and current parent, Springfield Rotarian, Owner of Springfield Buick.
Joan Schryvers – Programs. Publicity Director and Editor of “Sideliners” for the Thurston Football Association. Self-employed.
Jenny Ulum – Development. Director of Public Affairs at PeaceHealth Oregon Region.
Kate Wallace – Programs. Community Volunteer: SMART volunteer, Springfield Library Friends and retired elementary teacher.
