SEF Grant supports early reading intervention.

With a grant of only $2,780.94, first graders and kindergarten students at Thurston Elementary School are making huge progress with their reading. Eighteen students were enrolled into the “Early Reading Intervention” program. Ten students have already advanced out of the program and they have been moved onto higher-level curriculum. One kinder actually was advanced two reading groups and is now the highest reader in her current group!

The best news is that this curriculum, purchased with the Springfield Education Foundation grant, can and will be used next year!
